Mit der Aktion „Wanted“ kommentiert Nicole Weniger die Wolfsdebatte, die derzeit im Alpenraum geführt wird. Die Künstlerin beschäftigt sich mit Ambivalenzen, Ängsten und Mythen rund um den Wolf. Von der Romantisierung des Wolfes bis hin zur illegalen Jagdtrophäe. Dabei ist die Frage von Territorialität bedeutend. Wer darf bleiben, wer nicht? In Anlehnung an Fahndungsplakate inszeniert sie eine Persiflage, die die Absurdität der „Fahndung“ nach einem offiziell geschützten Tier zeigt.

With the project “Wanted,” Nicole Weniger comments on the current debate surrounding wolves in the Alpine region. The artist explores the ambivalences, fears, and myths associated with the wolf — from its romanticization to its status as an illegal hunting trophy. Questions of territoriality play a central role: who is allowed to stay, and who is not? Drawing on the visual language of wanted posters, she stages a parody that highlights the absurdity of the “manhunt” for an officially protected animal.
